Amanda Perez, a Fort Wayne, Indiana native was talented as they came. The R&B and hip hop artist  released her first single titled “Never” in 2001. “Never” ended becoming Perez’ first charting single in her career, peaking at #79 on the Billboard Hot 100. In April 2002, she released her first album titled Where You At?, under the independent label, Powerhouse Records. Although the album did not chart on the Billboard 200, it was hit in the eastern part of the United States, and made her a local celebrity in her hometown. It also brought the attention of Virgin Records, who signed her later that year and decided to release a re-worked version of Where You At? nationally.
In 2003, the re-worked version of the album, this time titled Angel, was released nationally. It peaked at #73 on Billboard 200, and spawned two singles, “Angel” and ” I Like It”. “Angel” was released as the first single from the album, and peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first and only Top 20 single. Her second single, “I Like It” did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but became a club and urban hit for Perez. In 2004, Perez released her third album titled I Pray. The album peaked lower than her previous album, peaking at #90 on the Billboard 200, and only one single was released from the album. The single, “I Pray”, failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first single to fail to chart. Amanda Perez is still performing across the world today. She had a rough past with drugs but has worked her way away from that life. She is currently working on her next album “Love don’t make Sense”. Check out her smash “I Pray” below.

Where is my boy Andre 3 stacks?! People have been waiting on the return of this man and he’s been no where to be found. He hasn’t dropped anything since “The Love Below”, which was one of my favorite albums. It was different, and it really set a trend for different music. Andre put out some songs just to keep people anticipating even more. He dropped a cold verse on John Legends’, “Green Light”, which he ripped. He was supposed to come out with a solo album, but it has yet to be released. His Outkast brother, Big Boi, dropped his solo album, “The Son of Chico Dusty”, which goes hard. So I know that Andre 3000 is right behind him and ready to drop soon. Come on Andre mane, the people need you and the good music.
