We all want to be successful. But the real question is, how bad do you want it? People always say “I want to be successful”, but it takes hard work and dedication and to be honest most people don’t want success that bad. We all have the power to do so, but it’s takes time, effort, and persistence to achieve it. Giavanni Ruffin is the perfect example of what it takes to be successful. He was a star running back at East Carolina University. Now he is a free agent in the NFL, preparing for his chance. He’s had some offers from a couple teams, so it’s just a matter of time for him. His video is and inspiration for many people around the world, kids and adults. It doesn’t matter if you are not an athlete or not, you can still work hard as hell to get where you want to go in life. I’ve watched this video a lot because I can relate, plus it gets me hype when I workout lol. I play basketball instead, so to see him work hard like that, just makes me work even harder. The motivational speaker Eric Thomas tells a great story that mashes very well with this. So take a look at the video and ask yourself, “how bad do you want it?”

I really didn’t want to do this article because I know everybody who witnessed what happened today, felt the same way I did.  Our American Justice System does not exist in my eyes.  You have people like Casey Anthony, who kill their kids and get off clean. When the system has all the evidence to put her away and they don’t. But in the case of Troy Davis, you have a man who was killed with no evidence at all. People even claimed that a man that was with Davis that night told them that he did the murder, smh. I mean, seriously. I’m not going to say “when is this going to stop?”, because it won’t, and that is sad to say.  Over 130 people have been released from death rows throughout the country due to evidence of their wrongful convictions. So why not Troy? It makes me sick to my stomach to know how this system and this country works. At this point, we shouldn’t have laws, because in the end the system won’t follow them. I feel really close to this because I had a family member released from death row and his name is Clarence Brandley. He was wrongly convicted of rape and a murder of a 16-year old student in 1981, and was held on death row for nine years. He was released in 1990. I’m blessed that he is free and able to be with family. So I know what the families are going through as well as the people. You also had over 1,000,000 people sign a petition to prevent Davis’s execution, and he  also garnered support from former United States president Jimmy Carter, Pope Benedict XVI, former FBI director William Sessions and others. But it did not help sad to say. His last words were to those who were about to give him the lethal injection: “To the people who are about to take my life, may God have mercy on your souls and may God bless your souls,” Davis stated. Davis, 42, who was  strapped to a gurney, was then given a lethal injection.  He was pronounced dead at 11:08. I pray for his family and for this country, better yet, the world. R.I.P. Troy Davis, another innocent soul taken from us. You will be missed and never forgotten.

Now everybody knows the show “Basketball Wives”. Where they show the in-depth lives of girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, wives, soon to be ex-wives and so on of current and former players of the NBA. It is now in it’s third season and the show is filming in Los  Angeles.  I’ve watched the show a numerous amount of times, and I don’t get anything out of it. I mean, I get caught up in the show with the bullshit they are talking about, and then at the end i’m left feeling angry because I felt like I wasted an hour of my life. Let’s be serious, the show is on because people like gossip and controversy. But they are women out there who let this show affect their lives and don’t even know it. You have children watching this show (which they should not because if you are a real parent you would not let it happen) and they are growing up  with the mentality of going after an athlete so they can live that lifestyle, smh. You have grown women out there who pass up on good men everyday because he doesn’t have the money to live that way. Now, i’m not saying that a woman has to get with a broke man, lol, but at least give a man a chance if he doing good for himself. I’m also not saying a woman doesn’t deserve that lifestyle, but instead of trying to look for somebody who has it, how bout you work hard to get it. All it takes is time and effort. So if you have the time to sit there and watch BBW or play around on Facebook ,Twitter, and Skype all day, you have time to work hard towards a goal you have set for yourself. I blame Shaunie O’neal for this because she is the mastermind behind this. I realize this was her hustle, so im not mad at that. I just don’t like the fact that she is playing not only these women on the show, but the women and children who watch this show. She sits back and watch confrontations go on and on, and then has the nerve to act like “OMG, what just happened?” You know what happened because you are the PUPPETMASTER. She has the nerve to say that they do good things in the community and for others, but you won’t show that because nobody wants to see that.  How about showing what businesses they own, what they do in the community, show them helping people and being a force in the world, instead of arguing about why such and such slept with her man. She is playing women (the dumb ones) who let this show affect them as a person. You can watch whatever you want women, but don’t get caught up in bullshit that won’t help you succeed in life. This is what the children out there are watching, who don’t have real parents, smh.
